Abraham negotiated for Lot’s life. Moses pleaded for mercy for the Israelites. Daniel humbled himself and was heard. Elijiah made it rain. Jesus, is the ultimate intercessor, intervened on our account.
Intercession is a time where you step out or your comfort zone to plead someone else’s case. Knowing you might be shot down, knowing it might not happen. But you do it in faith knowing that it could.
Today in our guided fast and prayer we intercede for our sister. Father, we are with her and ask that you grant her request. She is an incredible daughter, filled with the humility that you have taught us. She is curious and thirsty to be closer to you. She has shown fruit through her life choices, and she has led by example. Her request is clear, and her desire is great. Let it be so. Let her story become a testimony of intersession. A story of hope and a tool to strengthen faith. Your mercy will not go unnoticed. Please Father, I intercede for her not in any inflated sense of superiority but instead on my knees knowing that you are listening and that you are in control. Amen.
