Let Him do the Heavy Lifting - Day 209

As dawn breaks, a flood of thoughts rushes in like an overzealous alarm clock!

To-do lists, cringeworthy moments from yesteryears, the weight of everyone else's expectations, bills piling up, deadlines looming, simmering rage at life's unfairness, achy muscles, reminders of choices

We have a Father who asks us to rest in Him. He wants to console us. He knows there is suffering in our lives. He recognizes how hard we have to work. He cares for our mental health. He feels our pain.

We are free to walk confidently through life knowing He will fill the Gap. When we feel like we are not good enough, God reminds us of the strength we have in Him.

Christmas is a time of togetherness and celebration. It can be a painful reminder. Missing a loved one, impending health issues, pressure and anxiety. The everyday human experience magnified.

A good time to remember His two greatest commandments:

Love God with all your heart. - Hope in Him will never fail you.

Love others. - Let’s be mindful and kind at a time where sensitivity could be heightened.

If you are feeling strong during this holiday season lift someone else up. If you are feeling weak, let Him carry the weight.
