In 1 Kings 4, we see Salomon establishing a well-organized kingdom. He delegates well and appoints officials all over Isreal. People from all over Isreal come to hear him speak. His reign brings peace and balance. Peace and balance are a great goal for all of us to have in our lives.

In 1 Kings 5, Solomon makes international connections in search for cedar and craftsmen. The preparations show devotion to the task of building God's house.

In 1 Kings 6, the construction of the Temple begins. God reminds Solomon that obedience is more important than the building itself. This teaches us to focus on what is most important. Outer appearances will never matter as much as our respect to His voice and His purpose in our lives.

In 1 Kings 7, Solomon supervises the construction of his palace and oversees the crafting of details in the temple. The care and beauty show the honor Solomon gives to God. If with introspection we look into our own lives, we can ask ourselves if we live our lives with same quality of care and beauty while constructing our own temple.

In Psalm 94, the psalmist calls out the arrogance of the wicked. He reflects on how they seem to go unpunished. God does not go blind to injustice. The Psalmist rests in knowing God sees, hears, and will bring justice in His own time.

Psalm 95 begins joyfully. It is a call to worship our Creator. The Psalmist, most likely David, acknowledges God’s greatness. Just like in life, we are reminded not to harden your hearts like Israel did in the wilderness. We can not only praise Him when convenient. It’s about trusting Him when things feel unfair and walking faithfully when He speaks.
