In 1 Chronicles 22, God tells David that Salomon, his son, will be the one to build the temple. Instead of being discouraged, David passionately turns his focus to preparing everything Solomon will need, gathering gold, silver, stone, wood, and skilled workers. A lesson many parents have to learn, leaving their dreams behind to prepare for their future.
In 1 Chronicles 23, since the Temple will soon replace the tabernacle, David reorganizes the Levites into roles focused on assisting priests, leading worship, and maintaining the house of God.
In 1 Chronicles 24, David divides the descendants of Aaron into 24 groups, each assigned to minister in the Temple in rotating shifts. This structure allows for continuity in service with a desire to follow God’s will.
Psalm 114 is a short but powerful celebration of God’s monumental actions during the Exodus. Looking back and celebrating how far we have come is a great way to fill ourselves with the energy we need to worship God fully
