In 2 Kings 23 we see Josiah, stirred by the rediscovered Book of the Law, leads one of the most powerful revivals in Judah’s history. His heart is sincere and his actions bold. An amazing example as to how we should live our lives!

In 2 Kings 24, After Josiah’s death, Judah collapses quickly. A series of ungodly kings (Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin and Zedekiah) leads the nation further into decline. Babylon invades. The Temple is destroyed. The people are exiled, and the kingdom of Judah falls. The final two tribes of Jacob exiled and oppressed. These chapters are a sobering reminder that consequences are real. God does not abandon His people. He is still writing the story.

Psalm 108 is a powerful mixture of praise and prayer into a declaration of trust in God. It urges us to anchor ourselves to Him. Peace comes only from Him.
